Long Road Trips

If you plan on going on a long RV trip, you will want to make sure that you bring some of the following items with you:

  • Medical insurance cards. No one wants to be across the country and not have their insurance information with them if they become sick or injured.

  • Maps. While many RV’s come with a GPS system, sometimes they stop working or you are in a location that it cannot get an adequate signal. This is when an old fashion map will come in handy.

  • Extra blankets and clothes. You never know what type of weather you will come across when traveling. Be prepared with extra blankets and clothes, should it become very cold at night or if you are sweating profusely during the day.

  • Tarps and Tools. Sometimes things go wrong. Having a tarp and some basic tools on hand can be beneficial if you find the roof of the RV is leaking or something breaks. While many RV rental companies provide roadside service, if you are in the middle of nowhere, it could take several hours for help to arrive. You should always be prepared for the unexpected when traveling.

Renting and traveling by RV can be a memorable experience and a lot of fun. No matter where you decide you want to go, or if you really have no plan at all, there are ways to do so by RV.
