When I started this show I had no idea what it would become. All I knew was that taking adventures, pushing out of my comfort zone, and inspiring people to do the same was something that meant a lot to me and that this was a way for me to share that. I had no idea how much it would change my life! Five minutes into shooting the first episode I knew that this was what I was meant to do for the rest of my life!
The show focuses on adventure and the outdoors. I want to show people that if someone like me; who is not an expert, not an adrenaline junky, and not a world jet-setter can do these things that anyone can. I am afraid of almost everything I've done on the show but I really want people to see themselves in that and feel inspired to push out of their comfort zones and go for it too! And adventure can be anywhere! I like to show a lot of national parks because they're so accessible and incredible places to explore.
Over the past two years I have shot over 35 episodes and written over 90 blogs. I started an #adventurechat on Twitter and have attended conferences, travel shows, e-courses, and more. I'm voracious to learn as much as possible about this industry and how to constantly improve. I've put almost $30,o00 of my own money into travel, equipment, courses, etc. This is my baby, this is my business, and I hope that this is my future.
I am terrible at asking for help an even worse at asking for money. The thing that changed for me was when I started to see this show as a business; a service; a way to give back to people and inspire others to go on adventures. I truly want this show to continue for years to come and it's so close to a point where it can. I'm in the process of securing sponsorships and have created a sizzle reel to pitch to networks. But now is the time to ask for help. I have created an IndieGoGo page to fund one more year of the show. I believe that that is all it will take until the show is making money either online or on a network.
This money will go toward travel expenses, equipment, marketing, education, and more. The funding is to create an inspirational and educational show that will give back. And for every donation that is received on the IndieGoGo page, I will also be donating $1 to the National Park Service to protect these incredible places that I love to share.
So check out the video below to see more about the show and learn about how you can help. Any donations and/or shares are so greatly appreciated. Thank you all so much for your love and support!
