Harrison Idaho and the Famous Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes

Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes Idaho

Harrison Idaho is an outdoor adventurer’s paradise. From the stunning Lake Coeur d’Alene, to the renowned Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes, to the shops and restaurants, Harrison has something for everyone! The town of Harrison is located 30 miles south of Coeur d’Alene and is an awesome little North Idaho getaway. In the summertime, boats can cruise out onto the lake, beachgoers can relax on the sand or rent a stand-up paddle board to get on the water, and foodies can enjoy some local wine tasting or a cold beer on the patios overlooking the water.

Harrison is also an epic stop along the Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes. This 72-mile bike path runs along the route of the former Union Pacific Railroad and stretches across the panhandle of Idaho, from the border of Washington to the border of Montana. The trail is open year-round and provides clean restrooms along the way. If you don’t have your own bike you can always rent some in town or take out an E-Bike, like we did!

E-Bikes are an awesome way for people of all fitness levels to get out and go for a ride. With a peddle assist that can help you go up to 25mph, these bikes cruise along quickly helping you take in as many sites as you can. The trail runs along the Coeur d’Alene River and offers stunning vistas everywhere you look! We even got to see a moose!

Once we hopped off the bikes, we were ready for some grub! The Ride and Reel is Harrison’s newest restaurant and offers amazing views of the lake from it’s patio seating. From pub food, to charcuterie boards, this restaurant offers something for every taste. Add in a nice local craft beer on tap, and I was feeling pretty good.

But no trip to Harrison would be complete without a stop at the Harrison Creamery and Fudge Factory! With over 30 flavors of locally made ice cream and fudge, this place will satisfy any sweet tooth! I opted for the Salted Caramel Pretzel and lemme tell ya, it’s worth going back for!

From wandering the shops downtown, to exploring the Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes, Harrison is the perfect North Idaho getaway destination! To learn more about Harrison Idaho and North Idaho Travel click here and watch the full episode of our adventure below!
